Based on current early learning research, the Cradles & Crayons Preschool curriculum actively engages children and supports differences in learning styles, maturity and interests.
The Cradles & Crayons Preschool Curriculum is a series of integrated sequences of actvities based on a topic or theme. Each sequence includes discovery and exploration, creative art, group discussions, music, skills based learning, games and stories designed to focus curiosity and interest.
The program is developmentally appropriate fulfilling the needs and appreciating the differences of individual children. Each child is addressed socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. These needs are met by providing a balance of child initiated and teacher-focused activities, active and quiet activities, and whole group and individual activities. Each activity stimulates thinking, reasoning. decision making and problem solving.
The theme-based curriculum creates a hands-on, active program where children interact with each other and materials, co-operating and collaborating. The curriculum builds upon what the children already know and are able to do. This enables them to connect new concepts and skills while building layers of learning during exciting discovery opportunities.
